Overview
The process for employee departures at Fairview and HealthEast is as follows:
- The employee submit their resignation to the leader.
- The leader confirms the reason for their departure.
- The leader reminds the employee that they will receive an exit interview invitation and encourages the employee to complete it.
- The leader submit the resignation within 24 hours of receiving it.
Note: The employee’s IT access will not be turned off until after the employee’s last day. - Once the termination is processed it will trigger an exit interview invitation via email to the employee’s work email address.
- The employee completes the exit interview. The exit interview is a short questionnaire regarding their employment experience, reasons for leaving the organization and suggestions for improvement.
- Leaders should partner with HR Strategy to understand trends and develop retention strategies.
How to Process Employee Departures at HealthEast:
- Use Termination for employee’s leaving HealthEast/Fairview.
- The HRAF should be complete within 72 hours of the employee providing notice.
- Enter the effective date of the termination (typically the last day worked).
- Select the Reason for termination.
Note: Notice period requirements are defined within the HRAF tool and will be displayed in red if the employee does not meet the required notice period as defined by their union contract. - In addition to HRAF, complete the departure checklist for each employee leaving
- IS receives Lawson Termination Status to shut off computer and badge access
